What is a 500 Gram Cake Anyway?

A 500 gram cake is a multi-shot aerial firework in which pre-loaded tubes are arranged and fused internally. The “grams” are grams of pyrotechnic composition in the firework. The combined amount of composition in any single cake can total as much as 500 grams. In terms of weight of pyrotechnic composition, 500 gram cakes are the largest fireworks available to consumers in the United States.  In some European countries, cakes can have as much as 1,000 grams!

500 gram cakes have soared in popularity because they are safe and easy to use. The user simply lights the one external fuse to unleash a series of shots.
