What are the Biggest Firecrackers That are Legal in the USA?
We’ve all heard of cherry bombs, and the legendary M-80. But the real question is “where can you find these items?” The short answer is, unless you have a federal explosives license, you can’t. Both of these products (and anything similar) were restricted by the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission in 1966. The main difference between these products and today’s consumer firecrackers is the amount of explosive composition used to make them. Before they were restricted, the amount of powder allowed per product was 200mg. Today, the maximum amount of explosive composition for firecrackers stands at 50mg. There are many different types of legal firecrackers that provide plenty of bang for your buck. Our favorites are our Keystone Fireworks M-100 Silver Salutes and our Mini Cannon crackers.
