The Chemistry Of Fireworks

Every effect that you see and hear in fireworks is the result of a chemical reaction. Each firework is designed to have a specific color, effect, or noise and is carefully formulated using a variety of chemicals. Most fireworks are handmade with these specific chemical mixtures. Though most of the chemicals used in fireworks are very common, the anatomy of today’s modern fireworks can be very complex. Chinese technicians have carefully crafted the “recipes” for today’s fireworks over a period of hundreds of years using science, imagination and trial and error.  Construction of fireworks should only be done by professionals.
